Koloia

Terms of Use

This agreement

These terms are the user agreement between you and Bohdan Kostiuk, a private individual in the European Union who runs Koloia (support@koloia.app). They apply to the Koloia app and this website, and you accept them by creating an account. Koloia is offered to people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Ukraine; the app can be downloaded elsewhere, but we do not offer it there, and we do not serve people in Russia or China. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Age

You must be 16 or older. The app does not create an account for anyone younger, and we delete an account if we learn it belongs to someone under 16.

Your account

You sign in with Google. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else; you are responsible for what happens under it. You may use the app for its purpose; the app, the name Koloia and its logo remain ours. You can delete your account at any time — see Delete your account.

Your content

What you write — kolo names, your display name, notes — stays yours. You allow us to store it and show it to the members of the kolo it belongs to, for as long as it stays there. Keep it lawful and respectful of other people's rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use Koloia to harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone; to post anything illegal or that infringes someone's rights, sexually explicit, hateful or violent content, or anything that sexualises or exploits children; to impersonate anyone or mislead about who you are; to send unsolicited invitations or spam, or collect other people's data; to interfere with the service — probe or overload it, break its security, use the API in ways the app does not, or copy its data in bulk; or to get around a removal from a kolo or a closed account.

Moderation and appeals

We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these terms or the law, or when the law requires it. A person decides each case; there is no automated moderation. We tell you what we did and why by email, unless the law forbids it. If you disagree, reply or write to report@koloia.app, and a person will review it; you can also go to a court or an out-of-court dispute body. The owner of a kolo can remove a member and stop them rejoining it — that is their decision, not ours.

When we learn of illegal content, including terrorist content and child sexual abuse material, we remove it promptly, act to stop it being posted again and report it to the authorities where the law requires. You can complain about illegal content, about a removal or account action that affects you, or about how we handle reports, at report@koloia.app; we acknowledge the complaint, look into it and tell you the outcome.

Reporting

To report content or a person, tap “Report” in the app or write to report@koloia.app: say where it is and why it breaks the rules or the law, and confirm that you believe your report is accurate. Anyone can report. We confirm receipt and tell you our decision, normally within seven days; we do not tell the reported person who reported them unless the law requires it.

Third-party content

Film data, posters and where-to-watch information come from TMDB and JustWatch, which do not endorse Koloia; game data comes from IGDB. Posters and the names and logos of streaming services belong to their owners. Links to other sites lead outside Koloia.

The service as it is

Koloia is offered as it is. We cannot promise that it will always be available or never lose data. We may change, pause or end Koloia for a valid reason, such as security, the law, or technical or business needs. If a change significantly worsens your use, or we pause or end Koloia, we tell you by email at least 30 days ahead unless a serious reason prevents it; you can then end this agreement at no cost by deleting your account.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

Governing law

If you are a consumer, the law of the country where you live applies, and you can bring a claim there. If part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Before a change to what you may do or what we promise applies to you, the app asks you to accept it; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
